Challenge: Manual Reclaim of Off-Spec Products
High volume processors of packaged products will have to handle off-spec packages from their packaging lines. Many companies reclaim this product manually. Companies will divert labor to this process to reclaim their products. This is a time consuming and expensive process and labor that would normally be used for production is wasted. Manual reclaim also has safety risks by opening packages with a razor knife. If packages are ripped open by hand, certain ergonomic issues are created by repetitive motions.
